The Dark Knight Rises cliffhanger

Blake glides into the Bat Cave through a waterfall disguising the entrance. He has a rope attached around him. He surveys the surrounding area. Black is obviously intrigued with finally discovering what we all identify as the Bat Cave.

Blake approaches the top platform. The ground rises underneath him, hinting to us that he will become the next major character. Blake stands firm on the rising infrastructure. Will he assume the next Batman role? Night Wing? We think Blake is going to become Night Wing.

The cliffhanger is setting up the origin of a former detective who wants more out of his life. He has the same background as Bruce Wayne, an orphan that grew up in a foster home.

Did Bruce Wayne somehow communicate to Blake that he is to protect Gotham City? Bruce covered every angle in the end, possibly leaving Blake the bag with the necessary gear to reach the Bat Cave. It seems Blake is living his dream, knowing that everything Batman stands for also compliments his moral values.

The cliffhanger is that Batman fans and viewers must fill in the void about Blake's future role in community service. He quits the police force. Blake is given a mystery bag. He reaches the Bat Cave. We can convey that The Dark Knight Rises ends with Blake possibly becoming Night Wing.

The Dark Knight Rises is the finale to a great Christopher Nolan depiction of Batman as The Dark Knight.
